A Chinese finger lock or trap is a device that looks a little like a bamboo pixie stick container. When you PULL them apart, as you'd expect to do with a device like this, the lock sets in and it's a vice grip in which you can't free your digits. To get them free, you have to think opposite and PUSH together to free both fingers. Well, that's sort of the way I think a defense has to attack Patrick Mahomes. One of the best things that Mahomes does is slide underneath a fast rushing edge rusher, then duck out to the right side, trying to throw on the run to an open receiver. In pure Chinese Finger Lock fashion, the Texans should invite him to do what he does well.

In the team's early days, the all-female squad was referred to as the Chiefettes. In addition to the Cheerleaders, in the early 1970s, there was also a dance/drill team that performed for pre-game and halftime. From 1986 to 1992, the cheerleader squad featured a mix of men and women. From 1993 to 2019, the all-female squad has been known as the Chiefs Cheerleaders, and in 2020, one male joined the team. In the mid-1980s, the Chiefs featured a short-lived unnamed "Indian man" mascot which was later scrapped in 1988.

From 1960 to 1969, the Chiefs/Texans won 87 games, which is the most in the ten-year history of the AFL. But, the Chiefs are playing in Texas this time, something they have not done since 2017. Against the Cowboys and Texans, Mahomes was listed as the backup quarterback in 2017. "I consider him a friend, too. ... He's playing excellent football for them. He can tackle. He checks off all the boxes when you're looking for a good safety."

Patrick Mahomes made his NFL debut and first career start in the December 31, 2017 game against the Denver Broncos.
